Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Our Deep Tissue Massage therapist specialises in aches and pain management, reduction and removal using various massage techniques. Deep tissue massage effectively massages deeply into the muscles - not just stroke oil on the skin. A common misconception is that deep tissue massage is only for muscular people and that it's painful - it's not, when administered correctly there should be no pain, only relief and is beneficial to anyone with muscle and bone tissue, so that includes everyone! The core purpose of deep tissue massage is to loosen, repair or refresh sore, painful or aching muscles and joints. Perhaps you sit in the same position for long periods, or carry out repetitive tasks. It can restore stiff, sore muscles to ones that move with pain fee ease; giving freedom from any discomfort you may be experiencing.
What is Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that uses specific deeper pressure on the muscles. It is our knowledge and understanding of the different layers of muscle tissue and the ability to manipulate them and the connective tissue in these layers that result in relaxation, extension and clearing of the restriction patterns much more effectively than many of the other less effective massage styles. The deep tissue massage helps to release toxins that have been stored in the muscle for an extended period of time, some times even years. You would then drink plenty of water after your treatment to completely flush the toxins out of your body for good.
Our therapist is Fabienne St Pierre. Fabienne finished her first massage course in Bellingham, Washington State, in 1988. She studied deep tissue massage after having studied Foot reflexology in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
As a child, she dreamed of spending some time in her ancestors country. When she moved to Blarney in 1989, leaving behind her native land of Quebec, Canada, it was for six months. Due to a sort of time anomaly, specific to Ireland, the six months are not finished 24 years later. After all that time she is still practicing massage in Eire.
She has continued her education in the healing field, studying Pranic healing, Sports massage and Physical Therapy, Cranio Sacral Therapy and a few years of Kinesiology in France. As her passion for healing keeps growing, she is now enrolled in a course in Homeopathy, but her love for deep tissue massage has not changed: "A knot in a muscle can cause a lot of grief, it is great to feel the muscle tissue change under the thumb and feel it releasing a tight muscle, what ever other therapies I study, I always go back to Deep Tissue Massage, it is what I do best."
